OPPO is well-known for its industry-first camera-centric innovations that deliver ultimate photography experience, and the Reno series is the prime example that stands on this statement. With a combination of robust camera features, gradient design and magnificent software/UI, OPPO has established new heights for every segment in the smartphone industry.
The commitment of consumer satisfaction drives OPPO to make technical innovations in the smartphone industry, which results in devices like the Reno series and the A-series. As per the reports by IDC, OPPO also bagged the fourth position in the fourth quarter of 2019, with a huge YoY growth of 88.4%. It was all possible due to the successful Reno2 series and the A series that took over the market with their impressive specifications and innovative technology.
OPPO smartphones are known to deliver ultimate performance through their distinctive camera features that are capable of tackling every lighting condition and issue related to the distance between camera and object.
With its new smartphone, OPPO Reno3 Pro, the global smart device manufacturer aims to up the ante. The third-gen Reno promises top-end camera with exceptional night photography capabilities. Having a camera that can take good shots in low light conditions is quite important. After all, you cannot guarantee perfect lighting conditions every time you take a picture. As such, having an all-rounder smartphone ensures that you won’t have to pocket your phone when the sun goes down. Let’s take a quick look at what you can expect from the camera in the OPPO Reno3 Pro.
OPPO is offering a 64MP Zoom quad-camera setup at the rear of Reno3 Pro. The first lens in this quad-camera setup is a 13MP telephoto lens, followed by a 64MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP mono camera. Together this setup is capable of offering crystal clear pictures during any lighting conditions.

The 64MP quad-camera setup offers a range of features that includes an Ultra Dark mode. This mode uses NPU-based AI algorithms to create a clear photo in 5lux lighting. But what if the lighting conditions are lower than 1lux? Well, that’s where the phone sticks things into high gear and automatically switches to Ultra Dark mode.
Ultra Dark mode takes things a step further by helping users take clear photos when the light is even lower than 1lux! How does it do that? Well, the OPPO Reno3 Pro takes multiple frames of photos with different exposures. The phone then relies on its software trickery to find the best picture, which is then screened through AI scene and different mode detection. The frames are then passed through to the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) which then tries to reduce any noise that might be present in a picture.
Apart from that, the Reno3 Pro offers an Ultra Clear 108MP image bringing photography to a whole new level. Where on one hand, Reno3 Pro features Ultra Dark mode to capture clear images during night, the Ultra Clear mode aims to improve picture quality during the day. The most impressive quality of this feature can be seen while zooming in as manages to maintain clarity and details.
That’s not all, the most impressive quality about the OPPO Reno3 Pro is the front camera setup that packs a dual punch-hole camera with a 44MP+2MP configuration. This is touted as being the world’s first 44MP dual punch-hole camera setup in the world. Like the rear camera, the front camera also comes with ultra night selfie mode. So you don’t have a reason not to take a selfie, even if it’s dark.
The OPPO Reno3 Pro also offers HDR selfies in order to ensure that the images are evenly lit. It does this by taking multiple photos with different exposure levels and then combines them together to create a single evenly lit photo. The front camera on the phone is also clever enough to use the same technique to reduce noise. This should ensure that the final image is clear.
Of course, a selfie is all about you. In order to ensure that all the post-processing magic doesn’t end with your face looking unnatural, the OPPO Reno3 Pro recognises human faces and applies brightness as well as definition protection to the face. Moreover, the OPPO Reno3 Pro is packed with a MediaTek P95 processor – one of the most powerful AI processing engine available for 4G that supports stunning AI-camera actions. It also picks key characteristics for comparison, image alignment as well as vibration correction. This should ensure quality selfies that you wouldn’t mind sharing on social media.
Having a smartphone like the OPPO Reno3 Pro that offer such capabilities should let you flaunt your new device. Thanks to the Ultra Night selfie mode, you should be able to whip out your smartphone and take impressive photos, even in low light conditions. This could include restaurants where you’re having a romantic candlelight dinner or streets where your only source of light could be a lone street lamp.

Moreover, with a feature like the Ultra Dark mode in the rear camera, you could be even more confident and take out your phone where there is hardly any light. This could include instances such as taking photos with only moonlight, or if you want to take photos in a room with nearly no ambient lighting in place. Since similar features are also available on the front camera, you can also consider taking selfies in the same lighting conditions.
Thanks to these many features of the OPPO Reno3 Pro, you won’t have to think twice about taking out your phone to take a picture, regardless of the lighting conditions. More details about the device will be revealed once it launches on March 2 2020.
